Averse
create progressive music with its roots as much in atmospheric
and avant-garde rock music from the 70's (from King Crimson
to Tim Buckley) as in bands from the current metal area (from
Opeth or Emperor to Neurosis or Borknagar).
Formed
in Lille, France, 2002 by guitarist/composer/vocalist Tim Fromont
and drummer brother Colin, the line-up went from strength to
strength with the addition of bassist Thomas and guitarist/backing
vocalist François
in 2006. The
band also invites guest-musicians in concert and studio, such
as long-term guest violinist Huang-Jun, who lent arrangements
both on stage and in the making of the self produced concept
E.P. 'Scolopendrium Perception Haze'. The band also plays with
video screenings directed and edited by Tim.
Their
debut album 'The Endesque Chants' cuts a bold path through different
musical genres, floating seamlessly from modern acoustic jazz-folk
to dark progressive metal whilst still retaining an overwhelming
sense of oneness.
Movement
is enhanced by the addition of clarinet, harp and violin.
